GENEVA, IL — More than 350 people in Kane County tested positive for the coronavirus over the weekend, taking the county's total to 3,189, as of Monday, according to public health data. Officials on Saturday confirmed 172 new cases, the county's second-largest spike so far, along with 93 new cases Sunday and 88 new cases Monday. The number of coronavirus cases in Kane County has doubled in two weeks, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Aurora accounts for more than 44 percent of all new cases in the county over the past week, with 408 residents testing positive since May 5, the data shows. Child Abuse Reports Surge In Kane Co. The coroner's office on Monday provided basic information about the 31 people who died over the past week. The coroner's office will only release the age, gender, town of residence and date of death out of respect for those who have died and their families.
