Come volunteer at the Cesar Chavez day of service at Defermery Park! Higher Ground NDC is proud to host the Cesar Chavez Day of service in partnership with the City of Oakland and The Oakland East Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Cesar Chavez day of service is a day where community members come together to complete service projects within Defermery Park. These projects include yard maintenance, painting, community clean up, food giveaway, and planting in the community garden. Come join us to beautify what we now call Lil Bobby Hutton Park. All CDC guidelines will be enforced. Food Drive Donation: We are asking that everyone brings a can of food for the Oakland Student Service food drive. This food will be donated at a later time to members of the community.
