District 304 To Push Back School Start, Stick With Hybrid Model

GENEVA, IL — Geneva Community Unit School District 304 is expected to delay the start of the 2020-21 school year until Aug. 31 to give teachers time to plan for the district's hybrid instruction model. The school year was set to start Wednesday, Aug. 19, according to the district's calendar. "We believe that in order to make the Back Together 304 plan the very best it can be, we need everyone as prepared as possible to provide a safe and high-quality learning environment for staff and students," officials said Friday in a letter to parents. "This means we must take the time to make sure we get it right."
