GENEVA, IL — Geneva District 304 schools are set to reopen their doors for in-person learning Monday, after shutting down for a week amid a surge in coronavirus cases throughout the district and region. Superintendent Kent Mutchler sent a letter Wednesday telling parents the district's "adaptive pause" will end Friday, with students who signed up for in-person learning to return to classrooms Monday. The health department also recommended suspending all athletics and school activities during that period. Geneva District 304 moved to remote learning for one week, between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4. The district was on its Thanksgiving holiday break the previous week, with no classes in session.
