GENEVA, IL — A 43-year-old Geneva man faces battery charges for allegedly breaking an acquaintance's leg following an argument at a home in Geneva earlier this month, prosecutors said. Michael J. Conlee, of the 1200 block of Appleton Lane in Geneva, is charged with aggravated battery, a class 3 felony, and battery, a class A misdemeanor, in connection with the Feb. 8 altercation, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.
After the argument broke out, Conlee is accused of punching the person in the face, grabbing the victim by the throat and then pushing him to the ground, breaking two bones in his right leg, according to the news release.
Conlee was taken into custody on Wednesday and was released after posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bond.
His initial court appearance is set for 9 a.m. on March 17 in Kane County.
