Join with others who want to shift the narrative about race in this country by looking at the specific history of the Wallace House. 2:00 pm "Centering Enslaved People in Historic House Interpretation" , a panel discussion by three historians - Dr. Elijah Gaddis, Auburn University; Dr. Hilary Green, University of Alabama; and Laura Smith, Auburn University/Community Histories Workshop. 3:30 A facilitated discussion by Joe McGill, founder of the Slave Dwelling Project. McGill will describe the work of the Slave Dwelling Project and explore with the group the ramifications of slavery in the antebellum period and today.
