Press release from Frankfort 157-C: Oct. 19, 2020 Grand Prairie Elementary School Preschool for All (PFA) site is among the public school-based early childhood education sites to receive the Gold Circle of Quality, Illinois State Board of Education announced. Grand Prairie stood out in fiscal year 2020 according to ExceleRate Illinois, the state's system for supporting continuous improvement among early learning providers. Gold Circle programs have met the highest standards for quality in three areas: learning environment and teaching, administration, and training and education. Programs that receive this designation are actively engaged in continuous quality improvement. Members of the PFA team were recognized at the September Board meeting. The team consisted of Katie Doherty, Jenniffer Faruzzi, Taylor Kimbrough, Nichole Reiser, Kristina Glavas, Meghan Arnold, Emily Krystyniak, Erikka Smith, Deanna Ligas, Kelly McGovern, and Deb Santefort. "I am incredibly proud of the preschool staff. Their goal has always been to provide a high quality preschool program for our students, and they have worked tirelessly over the last few years to make our program what it is today," Jennifer Bajda, Director of Special Services, said. "The district was able to achieve the Gold Circle of Quality because of our highly skilled staff members and their dedication to educating our youngest learners." A certificate will be mailed from Illinois Network of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (INCCRRA) and will be displayed inside the school. Grand Prairie will join the 1,262 sites across Illinois with a Gold Circle designation, 41 of which are in Will County. This press release was produced by Frankfort 157-C.
