Frankfort Approves Purchase Of Parkway Trees, Work Trucks

FRANKFORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Frankfort Village Board authorized a $51,825 contract for 185 parkway trees which were lost during severe storms on Aug. 10. Trustee Adam Borelli said the operations committee reviewed two bids during its Nov. 10 meeting, and The Fields on Caton Farm, Inc., provided the low bid of $51,825. The contract includes the supply and installation of the trees. Board Approves Purchase Of Work Trucks The board also adopted a resolution authorizing a purchase agreement with Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort for two work trucks for public works. According to board documents, the vehicles are two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, 4WD trucks, for $41,969 each. The total purchase price is $83,938. Board documents state the two new trucks will replace a 1999 F-250 and a 2005 F-350, which have several mechanical issues and are no longer reliable. In addition to the two work trucks for public works, the Board also approved a purchase agreement with Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort for two works trucks for the utilities department. According to board documents, the purchase agreement includes a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado (regular cab) for $41,969 and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado (crew cab) for $43,885. The new vehicles will replace a 2005 F-350 and a 2007 F-350 which are end at the end of their useful life.
