Description
FRANKFORT, IL — Social workers at Grand Prairie Elementary School recently gave presentations on the District's bullying curriculum to all students. According to the district, the lesson focused on identifying an instance of bullying and responding and communicating with the bully.
Short video lessons were shown and students were asked questions about the situation in the video. The district said students learned the three Rs to stop bullying: recognize, report, and refuse.
The second lesson will take place the week of Feb. 1. According to the district, bullying presentations are just one part of the ongoing commitment to stop bullying in schools. Social-emotional learning lessons are given most Fridays and cover topics such as empathy, finding one's voice, setting goals, and positive self-talk.
