Frankfort Library Closes To Public, Still Offers Curbside Service

FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Public Library District is closed to the public until further notice due to the increasing case numbers and hospitalizations due to the pandemic. Although the building is closed to the public, the library is still offering some services. According to the library Facebook page, the library will still offer telephone, chat, and email reference and reader's advisory from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The library's book drops are also open, and returned items are quarantined before being checked in. Vestibule pick-up for holds and DIY kits is also open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to the library. The library is also continuing virtual programming, and is still taking donations for the Crisis Center and Lions Club Wish Lists, which can be placed inside the donation boxes in the vestibule. Several other libraries in the area, including Mokena and New Lenox libraries, have also shifted to curbside services.
