From the City of Kansas City: October 22, 2020 On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, there will be no leaf and brush collection for the city's northland district. Instead, leaf and brush collection scheduled for Nov. 3 will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 4. There are no schedule changes for trash, recycling and bulky-item pickup on Election Day. "We want to make sure all our Solid Waste Services employees have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote," said Michael Shaw, Solid Waste Services division manager. City employees may request time off to vote if their work schedules conflict with hours the polls are open. Additionally, the City Council has approved eight hours of pay for City employees who get training and work at the polls on Election Day. Here is a complete list of curbside leaf and brush collection rules. The following week is the Veterans Day holiday, Wednesday, Nov. 11. City offices are closed, therefore, trash/recycling services and leaf and brush collection are on the holiday schedule. There will be no trash/recycling or leaf and brush collection Wednesday, Nov. 11. Trash/recycling and leaf and brush normally collected Wednesday, Nov. 11 will be collected on Thursday, Nov. 12.
