From Kansas City Water: September 22, 2020 KC Water responded to a wastewater overflow near 8136 Troost Avenue at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2020. It ended at 3:15 p.m. the same day. An investigation found a manhole overflowing at the location. Wastewater entered into Boone Creek which leads to the Blue River. Cleaning crews removed debris from a grate inside the combined sewer overflow structure at this location which restored normal flow to the 30-inch sewer main. They also flushed the line and the creek to dilute the wastewater. Signs have been posted near the site alerting the public of the overflow.
