Join us for a Lunch & Learn featuring Jeffrey Stewart, newly appointed LUS Director. Join Downtown Lafayette for a Lunch & Learn featuring Jeffrey Stewart, newly appointed director and 20-year veteran of Lafayette Utilities System (LUS). Attendees can expect to hear from Mr. Stewart about his vision and goals for LUS, current projects, and plans for Downtown Lafayette infrastructure to facilitate economic development. LUS is celebrating 125 years as Lafayette’s electric, water, and wastewater utility provider and is the sponsor for this event. The DDA and DLU hosted Mr. Stewart for two Lunch & Learn events in 2019, which resulted in an LUS betterment agreement with the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority for a $1M lift station that will provide capacity for several hundred residential units in Downtown Lafayette over the next few years. Additionally, the planning, design, and construction of a second lift station to increase capacity by approximately 2,000 units in Lafayette’s urban core are underway due in large part to Downtown Lafayette’s continued advocacy for infrastructure improvements. We are excited to continue the conversation with the development community and advocates for downtown’s residential growth. Tickets are $20 per person, covering the cost of lunch.
