This panel discussion will feature creative leaders and influencers from Austin and beyond as they discuss developing their own mission and voice, and how they used those learnings to find or build their tribe. Dante Clemons - Founder, Origin Studio House Dante is a strategist focused on digital production across platforms and the management of innovation in organizations. She is the Co-Founder of Origin Studio House , a forthcoming coffee house and cultural space to be located in Austin, Texas. Born and raised in New Orleans, Dante graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Architecture, graduated summa cum laude from Pratt Institute’s graduate Design Management Program and serves on the Board of The Contemporary Austin. She joyfully resides in Austin, Texas. Marissa Rivera, _OFCOLOR, OLA Wellness Founder Marissa Rivera is a licensed psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and educator in Austin, Texas. She is the owner of Ola Wellness, a private psychotherapy practice proudly serving Austin's LGBTQ+ communities of Color. As a Queer Indigenous Tejana, Marissa is passionate about creating space for intergenerational healing and empowering folks throughout their process of acknowledging and dismantling white supremacy, colonialism, and imperialism. She is active in amplifying local artists and musicians of color through her work as a board member for the SIMS Foundation and Director of Partnerships for _OfColor. Jeff Beckham, Visual Artist, Gallery Owner, Chief Executive Office of Chicago Scholars Jeff Beckham is an acrylic artist, tech-entrepreneur, and community leader who serves as CEO for Chicago Scholars, a nonprofit that helps low-income and first-generation students in Chicago get into college and amplify career and leadership skills. As a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist, Jeff uses his art to address social and economic justice issues to make an impact in Chicago and black communities across the country, and his work has been on display around the world. Akilah James, Boss Movement Founder Akilah James is an Austin based model and entrepreneur, who has been in the fashion industry for over 10 years. Her experience spans in commercial modeling, model management, brand development, content curation, and runway fashion shows. Akilah is a high-energy, multifaceted model that has also been featured in Voyage Dallas Magazine as a trailblazer of her community through her company, BOSS [MOVEMENT]. Whether you enjoy runway fashion shows, magazines, or are just casually looking around for a fitness trainer and motivator who knows how to build brands from the ground up. Akilah is your go to person. She has been published more than 5 times within the last year alone. Her approach to any challenge is unique, as she is able to adjust as needed to bring out the best results for her team and clients. Richard Samuels, RichesArt Gallery Owner Richard Samuel is an artist and Founder of RichesArt Gallery. Focused on the sensual nature of art, Samuel creates vivid, eclectic, and realistic watercolor paintings adorned on the walls of private collectors around the world. As the only Black-owned gallery in Austin, Texas, Samuel is committed to diversifying Austin’s art scene and bringing work from underrepresented communities to the forefront.
