Powerful art by emerging local youth artivists, two floors of works backed by live DJ. From outrage to hope, amp up to save the planet! Get activated and inspired to join the fight against plastic pollution: come out to the Art/Act: Youth opening event on March 20, 4-6pm PST! Free to attend but reservation required. This energizing event kicks off the David Brower Center’s latest art exhibit “Plastic Rebellion.” Featured student artists are from Skyline High School in Oakland, Richmond High School, and Berkeley High School. Come give witness to their views on the plastic pollution crisis and their provocative solutions for the future. From intaglio to graphic design to collage and repurposed plastic, get amped by what the next generation has to say. Backed by a live DJ! Daring and poignant, immerse yourself in 120+ vibrant works of art and celebrate these young artists emerging onto the local Bay Area art scene. And, meet the incredible teachers who make it all happen: Jamie Treacy, Rachel Kantor, Gabriel Berent, and Deryk Hudson. EVENT DETAILS Held on-site in Berkeley, California in the David Brower Center's Hazel Wolf Gallery Attendees must wear masks indoors at all times. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test (within 48 hours) required for entry. Vaccination proof can be your physical card or photo of the card, along with ID. We'll be verifying vaccination status outdoors; kindly plan accordingly and expect to wait in line. All tickets must be reserved in advance as there will be no onsite registration available. Free to attend, and we welcome any donations you're able to offer!
