Keynote speaker: Michael Brown, Executive Director, Sustaining Way, is passionate about bringing together a diverse group of people who are working to make marginalized communities more viable, homes more affordable, neighborhoods healthier and self-sufficient and he tries to do this by helping people through the opportunities of sustainable practices. As an experienced policy maker, economic development advocate and community leader. He is active and works diligently to help communities of color achieve success and understand what they can do when they feel they are victims of social, environmental or systemic injustices. Sarah Strandholm - Breakfast Meal Demonstrator Sarah Strandholm currently a 4th year medical student at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville. Prior to starting medical school, she was a collegiate athlete, earned a master's degree in exercise science, and worked as a receptionist and medical assistant. Through medical school she completed the Lifestyle Medicine Distinction Track, which involved extracurricular learning in areas such as exercise and nutrition she is certified in culinary medicine and enjoys sharing her nutrition and culinary training with patients. After graduation this spring, she will be starting a combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics residency program. I'm hoping to practice primary care and look forward to caring for both children and adults. Blake Slaughter Project - Led by Blake who began studying guitar at the age of five and is a nationally recognized jazz guitarist. He is one of the youngest artists to ever play the Monetery Jazz Festival, Monterey, CA. Monterey Jazz Festival is the longest continuously-running jazz festival in the world.
