MILFORD, CT- The Junior Woman's Club of Milford, in conjunction with the Panel of Common Good, is seeking candidates for its 2022 Community Excellence Award.
Previously known as the "Living Treasure Award," the Community Excellence Award has new eligibility requirements. This award will be bestowed upon a candidate whose community service has enriched Milford and made it a better community in which to live.
Candidates must be:
A current resident and has lived in Milford for at least 10 years.At least 55 years of age, male or female.The nominee has demonstrated positive actions to improve the quality of life for Milford residents. The nominee has contributed, and continues to contribute, time to enhance the Milford community as a whole. The nominee performed this work on a volunteer, unpaid, basis. Nominations are due by May 1, 2022 with a ceremony at City Hall held in the late summer. The person selected will also receive a personalized stepping stone that will be added to the Award's walkway in the back of City Hall.

The Junior Woman's Club of Milford is a nonprofit organization founded on the principles of promoting education, public health, philanthropy and service to the Milford community. The Junior Woman's Club sponsors the Citywide Spelling Bee and Respect Campaign and awards two scholarships annually to Milford resident high school seniors. The Junior Woman's Club hosts its largest fundraiser of the year, Touch-A-Truck each October.
