Under this modified order indoor masking is strongly recommended, but not required, for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals in most indoor settings with the exception of some high-risk settings. Manhattan Beach, CA (March 4, 2022) Effective immediately, masks are optional when visiting City Hall and other City facilities, including the Police and Fire Department lobby, community centers, and the Manhattan Beach Art Center. Per the modified HOO, masks remain a requirement for the Dial-a-Ride program and at the jail. While many indoor settings will no longer require indoor masking, the modified HOO requires masking in high-risk settings, including public transit and emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional and detention facilities, homeless shelters, and long-term care facilities. In settings where masks are strongly recommended, businesses, venue operators, and hosts may choose to require masking irrespective of vaccination status. For outdoor mega events, bars, breweries, distilleries, nightclubs, and lounges, pre-entry vaccination or recent negative test verification for attendees is recommended, but not required. As a reminder, no person can be prevented from wearing a mask as a condition of participation in an activity or entry into a business. ### This press release was produced by the City of Manhattan Beach.
