Washington DC
Description
Attention bands: Saint Elizabeths Hospital in Southeast Washington, D.C. is once again looking for music submissions for the 15th annual Summer Concert Series. The series was started as a celebration of the hospital’s history of using the creative arts in the recovery process, and continues to honor that tradition. It consists of hour-long weekly concerts, scheduled for Thursday evenings from June through the end of August. We are seeking a wide variety of genres from bands with a dynamic stage presence and crowd interaction. The concerts are held outdoors on the hospital grounds, weather-permitting, in a specially-designed performance space. The audience is enthusiastic, and ranges in age, culture, gender and music preferences. If interested, please DO NOT reply to this thread. You may send links to audio and/or video clips (including YouTube, Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc.) to Ms. Kate Stanley at . If you reply to this post via Craigslist we will be unable to respond, so the above email must be used for your group to be considered. The music submitted should best represent your overall sound or live performance style. You are also welcome to send audio attachments in your email, or links to social media with instructions on song selection. If sending multiple files or links, please indicate which song BEST represents your band’s sound/performance. If you are submitting multiple performers for consideration please send ONE EMAIL PER BAND, along with the necessary contact information for each band. The deadline to submit is Thursday, March 31st. No bands will be accepted after this point. If chosen, your band will be notified by the end of April to set up a performance date. All performers MUST be at least 18 years of age as of June 1st, without exception. At this time, concerts are slated to be held in-person. This is based upon community spread of COVID-19 and hospital safety protocols. In order to perform, all band members must submit proof of full vaccination, including a booster shot. A PCR test must be completed 3-5 days prior to the performance date and negative results sent along with proof of vaccination.
