Hi, I'm Phoenix🐾(not sure how I am with other dogs). I am set to be euthanized 3/8, 8 am. Why am I E-listed? Stress....and I am to old for that! I'm a easy going senior and I shouldn't have to die in a shelter! It’s just not humane to keep me here. Who can save my life? Chill, gentle, and loving is me!....I don't move fast anymore! I'm an 8-year-old, yellow and white American Pit Bull Terrier/White Lab mix (54 lbs.). I came to the shelter as a stray. I was ok at first, but now I am stressed daily and chewing up my bed and barking in kennel. I’m on the shy side but warm up given a little time and a few treats. Once I’m comfortable, I give little tail wags, lean in for petting, come when called and may follow you around. I take treats gently and like playing with toys. I am unsure about being leashed and walking on-leash but coaxing with treats or petting helps me. I need an adopter or foster who will give me time to build trust and decompress, and who will continue working with me on my leash skills. I would like to meet the entire family before going home with you. I haven’t been assessed with other dogs, so if there is a dog in your home, you would need to separate us initially and introduce slowly after I have had time to settle in. I can't imagine this is how it could end for me...I don’t want to die... Will you save my life? Love, Phoenix❤
