CHICAGO — The body of an Evanston man who went missing in Lake Michigan last weekend was recovered Thursday. Clarence "C.J." Weaver Jr., 32, fell into the water from a rented pontoon boat Sunday evening near Montrose Harbor, according to Chicago police and family members. After rescue operations Sunday evening involving the Chicago Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guards and lifeguards from the Chicago Park District, the operation transitioned to a recovery. For more than three days, the Chicago Police Department's marine unit conducted surface searches, sonar scans and diver operations looking for Weaver's body, which was found around 6 a.m. Thursday morning. And his father told WMAQ that Weaver was comfortable in the water and had been enjoying himself with a group of friends before going missing. A vigil with Weaver's family was held Thursday evening in Evanston.
