Company Overview Chicago Urban Pets is a well established dog walking and cat sitting company located in the heart of downtown Chicago. We have been contributing the the care of pets in the comfort of their homes since 2013. Our team is usually around 8-12 employees, which we are looking to build back to since the pandemic. We are LGBTQIA+ friendly Job Summary As a midday dog walker for Chicago Urban Pets, you will be walking our regularly scheduled dogs in downtown Chicago Depending on demand, there will be some cat sitting incorporated into your daily route as well. Hours are based on how busy we are but will range from 3-6 hours / working day. This job pays hourly and you are set up as an employee. The job is very independent and you have a lot of control over your day. Note: Our Employees are paid for travel time as well as refund for Ventra usage! Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities. Dog walkers are responsible for arriving to each pet within their given timeframe, follow the routine notes from the company portal and submit well written service reports at the end of each visit. This also includes pictures taken during the time of the visit. Day-to-day activities of the position. Acknowledge Daily Schedule. Every morning you will log into your work portal and acknowledge the visits on your schedule. This can be done with one click from the comfort of your home. Plan the Route. You are responsible for planning out the route from each pet on your schedule that day. Note: this job requires public transportation use NOT driving** Start & End Shift. Click the start start and end shift button to start and end your day. Compensation. Dog walkers are paid direct deposit on the 15th and 30th of each month. This includes ventra cost. PTO is accrued for hourly workers. Your Role. As a midday dog walker you are representing the company while forming long standing relationships with our most frequently serviced clients. The team also hires petsitters to fulfill some of the off-hour services we receive. Your role is important because the regularly scheduled clients are the one's who use our services the most. Qualifications and Skills Live in or near the inner city of Chicago (We are not accepting applicants who are currently located outside of this area) Be prepared to make a 1-3 year commitment Be able to dress appropriately for ALL weather Be detail-oriented Be self-motivated Have experience with animals Possess SUPERB communication skills A smartphone with a data plan Being able to walk 5-6 hours a day. Availability to work consistently on specific days COVID-19 considerations we take the safety of our staff very seriously. All staff are required to be vaccinated and wear masks indoors.
