ELMHURST, IL — Before sunrise Thursday, a shipment of COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Elmhurst Hospital. It had been originally set to get there Tuesday, but it was delayed two days. The hospital took video of the arrival of the shipment, which was expected to include 1,950 doses. The hospital planned to start administering the doses to its employees mid-afternoon. This comes about a week after the FDA approved the vaccine. As of Thursday, the hospital has treated 1,115 patients with COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.
