Job Description Marion Excavating Co., Inc. is looking to hire a full-time estimator/project manager. As an estimator you are expected to complete everything involved with the overall process of a project. This includes searching for bidding opportunities to project completion close out. Some specific tasks are reviewing bid documents and specifications, creating take-offs, quantifying and qualifying material quantities and prices for accurate bid proposals. As a estimator/project manager for Marion Excavating Co., Inc. you will: • be expected to be punctual, reliable, and have an excellent work ethic. • You will have the prior knowledge of estimating in the construction site work grading, utility, sewer, and drainage fields. • Degree in construction engineering management, civil engineering, or related engineering field. • 2+ years of relevant experience in the field of excavation construction required. • 5+ years of construction estimating required. • Ability to interpret bid documents, plans, and all other related project/construction documents. • Experience with performing takeoffs and ability to learn industry specific software programs quickly • Must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills • Willingness to travel locally to various job sites/meetings as needed • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Knowledge of Viewpoint/ProContactor software preferred • Knowledge of public bidding & MassDOT projects preferred • Prior experience in estimating construction site work grading, utility, sewer, and drainage preferred. The estimator/project manager position receives competitive wages based on experience. Work Schedule Monday to Friday 7am-3:30pm Overtime is often available working late during the week or Saturdays 7am to noon.
