ELMHURST, IL — A convenience store in north Elmhurst was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning, police said. Police were called about the armed robbery shortly after 2 a.m. at Shell gas station, 926 N. York St. According to a police report, a man brandished a silver revolver and took money from the cash register. He was last seen running east across York. Officers checked the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful in finding him. The suspect was described as Hispanic, 40 years old, and wearing a black winter coat, blue jeans, a reflective vest, and a blue baseball hat. Police said the investigation continues.
