Description

Join fellow gardeners for an overview on reading seed packets at Cornell Farm, plus time for questions and answers! Growing plants from seed is one of the most rewarding endeavors a gardener can undertake, but the information on seed packets can raise a few questions: How can I tell if my plant has true leaves yet? What even is a determinate tomato? Do I have to follow these spacing guidelines? Is it too late to plant my cucumbers? Can I still plant the seeds from this 10-year-old packet I found on my potting bench? In this informal class led by Sara from the Cornell Farm Patio Team, beginner and intermediate-level gardeners will learn a few tips and tricks to reading the information on seed packets that will set you up for seed starting success. Feel free to bring any seed packets from home that you might be wondering about. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. When? Saturday, March 12, at 10am. Where? Meet in the Checkout Greenhouse near the seed section. There will be chairs set up. ---------- This is a free event. Tickets are not required; however, we ask that you please register so we have an idea of how many people to expect. Thank you! Masks are required. Please do your part to keep our community safe by wearing a mask at all times.
