Seattle Subway celebrates big wins and visions of Sound Transit 4. Beer-on-tap provided at Capitol Hill's iconic Optimism Brewing Co space. You're invited! Join Seattle Subway's 'Subway Into the Future!' party at Optimism Brewing Company (March 16th, 5:30-7:30pm) to joyfully celebrate our grassroots supporters and all-volunteer staff for a year of unprecedented victories for Puget Sound's Link light rail system and future Sound Transit 4 subway expansion! We are thrilled to welcome guest speakers, Senator Jamie Pedersen and House Transportation Chair Senator Marko Liias (prime sponsors of SSB 5528) to discuss how SSB 5528 will legalize exciting opportunities to augment and expand our 100% renewably-powered, fast, and reliable Link light rail subway system. Executive Director, Efrain Hudnell, will also discuss what exciting next steps Seattle Subway has in mind for the coming year! Speakers start at 6pm. Grab a beer on us, meet new friends, contribute your voice, and have a great time! Please RESISTER in advance so we know how many people plan to attend. Come out and celebrate with us! :) See you there. - Seattle Subway _______________________________________________ 2021-2022 SEATTLE SUBWAY ADVOCACY ACHIEVEMENTS: ✅ Led the Seattle City Council to fund the very first $2.5 million 'Integrated Transportation Master Plan', including a required Rail Corridor Identification component. ✅ Passed SSB 5528 through the Washington State House and Senate, soon to legalize pathways that 1). expedite ST3 construction, 2). make system-wide improvements, and 3). begin planning and cursory work on a Sound Transit 4. ✅ Hosted a successful and volunteer-powered PrideFest and Northgate Link Opening community engagement event series that garnered over 9k signatures on our SSB 5528 Action Letter and introduced our brand and ideas to thousands of new people. ✅ Opened our brand new Seattle Subway Store (www.seattlesubwaystore.com) with fresh new merchandise gifts available for every donation you make. ✅ Elected brand new Executive Director, Efrain Hudnell, and Board President, Rachel Brown to the Seattle Subway Board. ✅ Welcomed many amazing new volunteers and board members to our Seattle Subway family whom we love and appreciate dearly.
