ELMHURST, IL — Santa and his holiday friends are coming to your neighborhood as part of a holiday parade on Dec. 17, according to a city news release. The route is set to cover 16 miles of Elmhurst, with vehicles passing through each ward. It is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Santa and other parade participants will not be stopping or getting out of vehicles, the city said. This is a short parade with about 10 city vehicles. If your home is on the route, consider parking your car at the end of your driveway, the city said. You can turn your flashers on and wave as the parade goes by. The route is within a quarter mile walk of nearly any home in Elmhurst and will cross many open public parking lots, according to the news release. The city asks that residents practice proper social distancing. If the weather is bad, the parade will be delayed a day to Dec. 18.
