The music is sure to take you on a psychedelic journey back to a time where funk and rock 'n' roll came together. The band consists of Johnny Trama (Dub Apocalypse & The Silks) on guitars, Toussaint the Liberator (Soulive) on vocals, Tom Arey (J Geils band/ Peter wolf)on drums, Darby Wolf on keys, Nate Edgar (Nth Power) on bass, Ryan Taylor on guitar. About The Gravel Project: The Gravel Project pulls from a classic rock tradition with searing guitar licks and soulful organ vibes. They write modern feeling songs with catchy hooks and powerful lyrics. Their live show rocks an audience from start to finish while crossing a variety of genres including rock, jazz, blues, funk, Latin grooves, and soul. The familial bond between brothers Andrew and Jordan Gravel is palpable in both the connection and tension that can only exist between two brothers. Rounding out Andrew’s vocals and guitar and Jordan’s organ is the jazz influenced drumming of Dave Fox and the percussion and vocals of Brandon Mayes. Joining the band in 2022 is master percussionist Eguie Castrillo (Tito Puente, Steve Winwood, Jennifer Lopez). Their influences are apparent in their songwriting and in their selection of covers sprinkled across a Gravel Project set and include The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Santana, Band of Gypsies, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Clark Jr., and more. With two studio albums and a live album under their belt, The Gravel Project prepares to release their 3rd studio album, “Many Miles Ahead” on 2/19/22. On “Many Miles Ahead” The Gravel Project features their strongest material yet, with a balance of 70's rock, deep grooves with funk backbeats, and searing blues guitar; all packaged with a modern songwriting and production sensibility. Having performed well over 500 shows together, The Gravel Project will take you on a journey with powerful, soul-tinged vocals, tight, catchy songs and a groove and jams in which you can lose yourself. Treat yourself to this Gravel Project show and pick up a copy of “Many Miles Ahead” on vinyl or CD.
