Far Reaches Farm - A rare plant specialty nursery is hiring for multiple positions. Please direct all inquiries and resume to email. Gardener Full to part time position available for all phases of maintenance of rare plant display gardens and grounds at Far Reaches Farm and Far Reaches Botanical Conservancy in Port Townsend. Previous experience and horticultural education preferred. IPM background and knowledge of irrigation a plus. The position requires the physical capacity to lift 50lbs and to be comfortable with wheelbarrows. A sincere interest in horticulture is essential as this is an opportunity to learn by working with extremely interesting plants. Valid Washington Driver License and proof of vaccination and booster required. $17-$20 per hour DOE. Nursery & Propagation Assistant Full to part time position available for all non-retail phases of nursery work at Far Reaches Farm including potting, cutting propagation, watering, plant grooming and moving of plants. Previous experience and horticultural education preferred but an ability to work hard, an enthusiasm for learning and a responsible mentality counts equally. IPM background a plus. The position requires the physical capacity to lift 40lbs, wheel nursery carts, to stand at the potting table and to bend and lift some of the rarest plants in the world. Valid Washington Driver License and proof of vaccination and booster required. $17-$19 per hour DOE. Weeder/Transplanter/Plant Groomer Seasonal full to part time position available for weeding display gardens and seedling growing beds. Transplanting of seedlings to growing beds. Preparing plants for shipping including wiping pots and grooming plants as instructed. Attention to detail and the ability to bend and work on hands and knees required. Proof of vaccination and booster required. $17-$18 per hour DOE.
