Description
IFMA Wichita April 2022 - What Emergency?! What Emergency? Businesses need to be prepared for all types of emergencies and working at the front line of those emergencies will be the Facility Managers. Emergencies don’t schedule their arrival nor do they care what time of day or night or weekend or holiday they occur. From broken water lines on Christmas Eve, a smoldering fire on Sunday morning, broken sprinkler heads at 2:00 am, tornadoes striking at 5:00 pm Friday evening, sewer backups at whatever hour, careless drivers crashing through the front door of your building, a basement storeroom blooming mushrooms and mold, trauma scenes, oil spills, power outages…… and the list goes on and on. It is imperative to plan for the unexpected and to be prepared for response and recovery. For 50 years NCRI has been responding to all types of natural and man-made disasters and emergency situations. Founded right here in Wichita, NCRI has become a national leader in disaster response and recovery. Our goal in this meeting is to encourage you to complete your Disaster Plan and practice it. We will also share some tips of what to do and what NOT to do when some of these emergency situations occur. Linda DeTienne is with NCRI – National Catastrophe Restoration, Inc. as Vice President of Business Development, and ISO Quality Management Director. Prior to joining NCRI Linda was head of finance and administration for a major non-profit organization for fifteen years, with a decade of banking experience prior to that.
