ELGIN, IL — CVS Health is set to open thousands of new coronavirus testing sites at its pharmacies throughout the U.S. over the next month, including one in Elgin. The company announced this week that it plans to launch 2,000 new testings sites with a goal of having more than 4,000 sites operating in the U.S. by mid-October. Death Of Elgin Man At National Park Under Investigation The CVS Pharmacy at 500 Dundee Ave. in Elgin will be one of 18 new testing sites to launch Friday in Illinois, bringing the company's total to 96 testing sites across the state. CVS testing sites use self-swab tests. Patients looking to be tested must register in advance on CVS' website to schedule an appointment. Test results are expected to available within two to three days.
