Description

BIPOC Book Fest & Kindred Stories team up to bring you Books & Brunch -- an afternoon of poetry, brunch, and dope discussions. BIPOC Book Fest & Kindred Stories are teaming up to bring you two of our favorite things -- Books & Brunch. Join us for an afternoon of poetry from Houston Poet Laureate Outspoken Bean, delicious brunch from The Queen of Yum, and a panel discussion on the art of amplifying voices of color. Be sure to also browse the books at Kindred, and get a taste of what's to come at BIPOC Book Fest later this Spring. Let's get lit! Please note: Brunch from The Queen of Yum is included in the ticket price with your choice of shrimp and grits, or chicken and waffles. If for some reason, you do not see your option available or you'd like to change your meal, please email [email protected] by March 9. MORE ABOUT US: BIPOC Book Fest is a two-day festival debuting in April centered on writers of color and a showcase of literary works that feature Black, Indigenous, People of Color and members of other marginalized communities. Founded by Terri Hamm, Kindred Stories is a Black-owned bookstore and literary haven in Third Ward with numerous titles by Black authors.
