Taking Back Our Stories and Silencing the Shame
Come join us in an exciting event designed to empower and progress the healing process within Black and Brown communities! We will have local community mental health experts discussing why it’s so difficult to talk about mental health in BIPOC, including our keynote speaker Ashley Gaddy whose expertise is in community inclusion and leadership.
This event includes a panel discussion addressing the unique traumas people of color are affected by which includes racial, workplace, and other issues and how to go from surviving to thriving. One of the panelists will be Anastasia Walker from A Will to Thrive Counseling.
Hors d'oeuvres will be provided along with special guests sharing their healing monologues in the form of spoken word and poetry readings.
Come ready for this riveting discussion about silencing the shame and community inclusion!
This event is sponsored by NAMI and the NC Dept of Health and Human Services.
