The position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and/or Property Manager. The position is full-time, non-exempt. The Painter is responsible for completing all painting duties providing a clean, attractive finished product in a reasonable time period. Working side by side with other Maintenance staff, the Painter will assist in all phases of building maintenance operations within the apartment community. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare all surfaces (i.e., remove nails, fill holes, etc.) for painting Paint building interiors or touch-up as directed Keep paint off carpets, floors, wood stained cabinets, countertops, appliances, and light fixtures Satisfies any painting-related service requests following company procedures Assist in inventory control Perform light maintenance duties when necessary Completes all other requests and duties as assigned by your Supervisor Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrate competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive manner and meet deadlines with attention to detail Ability to understand and follow safety procedures Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to keep records and make reports Thorough knowledge of the methods, practice, tools, and material used to perform job duties Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety procedures Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 20-50 lbs. Frequently ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet, and legs or hands and arms Requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles Frequent kneeling, crouching and reaching and working with hands Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience preferred At least one (1) year experience with interior painting Understanding of paint preparation (taping, sanding, sheetrock repair) Requires handling objects weighing up to 50 or more pounds and standing or walking for more than six (6) hours a day Possess a CA driver's license Apply directly at
