ADA Compliance, Materials Shortage, and Roof Assets Please join us and other industry peers for this interesting half-day educational seminar to hear from experts in their field about some of the foremost current trends and issues facing facility managers, owners, and designers. Agenda: Registration begins at 7:30am Seminar from 8:15am-12:00pm 12:00 pm, lunch to follow The three educational sessions include: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Requirements for Sites - 8:30am–9:30am Improving Accessibility and Avoiding Lawsuits — There has been a rash of lawsuits in recent years related to parking stalls, signage, ramps, and/or other ADA-related features at sites being out of compliance with current ADA requirements. This session will cover the basics of ADA requirements for your sites including parking stalls, access aisles, signage, curb ramps, sidewalks, and other accessibility-related items outside of your buildings. Did you know that there are state-specified ADA requirements in addition to the federal requirements? What do you do if you find that some of your items ARE out of compliance? How long do you have to get it corrected? This session will provide a great overview of current ADA requirements and help educate you about basic requirements and other issues that likely affect your sites. Construction Materials Shortages and Delivery Delays — What is the Latest and What Can Be Done? 9:45am–10:45am We've all heard horror stories about the ongoing martial shortage and supply chain issues. This session will include a panel discussion with several experienced industry insiders including experts from different fields directly related to the ongoing material shortage and delivery delay problems that are affecting our projects right now—and will into the foreseeable future. This expert panel will include a contractor, a supplier/manufacturer, and a roofing consultant to provide solid and current viewpoints on different ways these problems are affecting projects and some tips on how to try to plan for them and deal with them on your future projects. This session will give you the latest update on this important and very current issue and help you better prepare for your future projects. Protecting Your Roof Assets and Extending Their Life — 11:00am–12:00pm Your building's roofs are one of your most important building assets, not only do they cost a lot of money to replace but they also serve a very important purpose: to keep water out of your buildings and prevent potential indoor air quality and/or energy loss issues. What steps can you take to try to protect those roof assets and extend their life the best you can? The presentation includes an overview of the latest infrared camera technology available, and real-life case study portraying how this technology helped uncover significant problems on some relatively new roofs, and how facility managers can benefit from approaching their roofing projects differently.
