ELGIN, IL — Ten Elgin nonprofits are set to share about $718,000 in federal coronavirus-relief funding passed on by Kane County. The Kane County Board recently approved about $3.05 million in relief for 32 nonprofits, with nearly a quarter of that going to nonprofits in Elgin. Former Elgin Deputy Fire Chief Dies After Catching Coronavirus Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley will receive $174,000, while PADS of Elgin will get $116,000 to support its mission to provide shelter, food and other necessities to homeless people in the area.
