ELGIN, IL — Four firefighters tasked with transporting a three-year-old child, who later tested positive for coronavirus, to a local hospital earlier this month are now being isolated as well, the Elgin Courier-News reports. The child was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates on March 12, but test results did not come back until later.
The hospital notified the Elgin Fire Department on Thursday that the child had tested positive for coronavirus. The firefighters are showing no symptoms, officials said.
