PATCHOGUE, NY — A singer from Long Island will once again be on a national stage: Christian Guardino from Patchogue made it to the quarterfinals of "America's Got Talent" in 2017, and this Sunday, will appear on season 20 of "American Idol."
The 21-year-old singer was born with a congenital disorder that left him legally blind as a baby. On "America's Got Talent," Guardino sang Jackson 5's "Who's Loving You," which garnered him a "golden buzzer," sending him directly to the show's quarterfinal round. He was only 16 years old at the time.
He has since released three singles and "Waiting," produced by country artist Hunter Hayes, has logged more than 90,000 streams on Spotify.
Guardino graduated from Patchogue-Medford High School.
Viewers can tune in to see his audition on the season preview of the new "American Idol" season at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
