ELGIN, IL—Two Elgin men caught reportedly selling drugs from a minivan have been arrested on methamphetamine charges, Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon recently announced in a news release. According to Kane County prosecutors, on the evening of Sept. 14, 2020, an Elgin policeofficer saw a green Ford minivan driven by 25-year-old Julio Archundia-Sanchez pull over to the west side of Mulberry Court near Mulberry Lane. After pulling over, prosecutors said the officer then saw the front passenger, Jose Solorzano-Martinez, 31, engage in what appeared to be drug activity though the front passenger window. Once the minivan pulled away, the police officer followed the two men and stopped their minivan following a driving infraction, officials said. During a search, prosecutors said the officer found crystal methamphetamine, glass smoking pipes, items commonly associated with drugdealing and a fake social security card. The officer then placed both men under arrest, prosecutors said. Achundia-Sanchez and Solorzano-Martinez appeared Wednesday in Kane Countybond court. Kane County Circuit Judge Michael Noland set bond for each at $100,000. The two men are scheduled to appear back in court at 9 a.m. Monday at the Kane County Judicial Center.
