ELGIN, IL — An 18-wheeler lost a load of cooking oil Thursday afternoon in Elgin. The incident occurred in the area of eastbound Route 20, northbound Shales Parkway and eastbound Sheldon Drive. Cleanup efforts are underway, according to a post at about 1:30 p.m. on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. Patch will update with more updates as it becomes available.
