Deadly Downtown Crossing Stabbing Suspect Arrested

BOSTON — A man from Boston is facing serious charges in connection with a deadly stabbing in Downtown Crossing last month. Anthony Nguyen, 47, of Boston, was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon at the time of the incident, police say. On Feb. 7, around 10 p.m., two men broke out in a verbal dispute at the MBTA Downtown Crossing Station. It wasn't long before the dispute turned physical, and police responded to a 911 call for a report of a stabbing, transit police said. 29-year-old Jaquan Rowell was found suffering from life-threatening stab wounds and taken to a nearby hospital and died more than three weeks later on March 1. The BPD Homicide Unit continues to investigate this matter in coordination with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
