Press release from Town of Hamden:
February 28, 2022
Hamden – During the winter of 2021, the Hamden Transition Committee embarked on something new to Hamden that has never been done in any previous administration. It is their pleasure to present this Transition Report to Mayor Lauren Garrett and her administration for review on behalf of the Town of Hamden. This is groundbreaking for Hamden as we work for a better future.
The Transition Committee collaborated on identifying challenges Hamden faces and developing recommendations to the Town to ensure Mayor Garrett's commitments to fiscal responsibility, accountability, governing transparency, and succinct communication.
The Transition Committee was comprised of approximately 30 subject matter experts of varying backgrounds in public and community service, as well as stakeholders with different levels of investment in Hamden. The Transition Committee also received input from Hamden residents by way of surveys and emailed recommendations. The Transition Committee was led by Co-Chairs Karen Bivens, Salvatore "Andy" McClain, and Tameeka Parks.
The Transition Committee is hopeful the newly formed administration is committed to creating the foundation for much needed and long overdue change. Please join us as we work to make Hamden a better place to live for all Hamden residents.
