BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 59-year-old Derby man was arrested on narcotics charges Wednesday after Bridgeport police raided his home and seized more than 400 grams of cocaine and marijuana, according to authorities. David Hawkins was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell (which police said is his third offense); operation of a drug factory; possession with intent to sell a hallucinogen; and possession of narcotics. Gathering information from multiple sources, authorities said they determined that Hawkins "was supplying crack cocaine to dealers in the City of Bridgeport." To corroborate this, police launched a surveillance operation of Hawkins, and undercover officers made several controlled drug buys from Hawkins at his home. At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, members of the Bridgeport Police Narcotics and Vice Division raided Hawkins's home in the 100 block of Bank Street in Derby. "As a result of this investigation, Officers located narcotics cutting agents, approximately 209 grams of cocaine, [and] approximately 217 grams of marijuana," police said.
