Here are the top three stories today in Irving: The Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund, which gives out federal grants to eligible homeowners, is now officially open for statewide applications at texashomeownerassistance.com. According to the program terms, a household that has faced financial hardship due to the pandemic and earns below the median income in their community can receive up to $40,000 for mortgage payment assistance, and up to $25,000 for property taxes, home insurance, and HOA fees. Many North Texas cities, including Irving, also still have funds for rent and utility assistance. (KERA News)On Thursday, 45 student-athletes were named to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Gymnastics Team. Headquartered in Irving, the Big 12 Conference selected students from Iowa State, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Denver who have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA while participating in at least 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
