Here are the top three stories today in Irving: The Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund, which gives out federal grants to eligible homeowners, is now officially open for statewide applications at texashomeownerassistance.com. According to the program terms, a household that has faced financial hardship due to the pandemic and earns below the median income in their community can receive up to $40,000 for mortgage payment assistance, and up to $25,000 for property taxes, home insurance, and HOA fees. Many North Texas cities, including Irving, also still have funds for rent and utility assistance. (KERA News)On Thursday, 45 student-athletes were named to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Gymnastics Team. Headquartered in Irving, the Big 12 Conference selected students from Iowa State, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Denver who have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA while participating in at least 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. The team will compete in the Big 12 Gymnastics Championships at the University of Denver on Saturday, Mar. 19. (Big 12 Sports) Looking for something to do in Irving this weekend?
