2 Charged With Murder In Joppa Delivery Driver Death: Sheriff

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two Joppa residents have been indicted on murder charges after a years-long investigation into the death of a food delivery driver, according to officials. Jabrell Jayon Brodie, 20, and Jaquan James Rashard Northan, 21, have been charged with murder, attempted carjacking and other offenses. The charges stem from the death of Timothy Wayne Youngquist, 34, of Joppa, who was killed while he was working as a food delivery driver in 2019. Authorities said that Youngquist was shot in what appeared to be a robbery attempt. Three men were seen running from the area where he was found in the 700 block of Monticello Court in Edgewood at 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2019. Over the last three years, law enforcement continued probing Youngquist's death, and they identified Brodie and Northan as suspects "based on information gleaned during an ongoing federal investigation," the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Friday. Harford County detectives partnered with investigators from Maryland State Police and special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to move the investigation forward. A Harford County grand jury indicted Northan and Brodie Tuesday, officials said. Northan was arrested Tuesday, while Brodie was taken into custody Thursday, officials said. Both are being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, law enforcement reported Friday. This is breaking news and will be updated.
