Soul Asylum to Headline 2022 RomeoFest

The Village of Romeoville has announced the headlining band for the return of the 2022 RomeoFest. Soul Asylum will be taking the stage on the Saturday night of the four – day event. Saturday night will also include a NEW Laser Light Show. RomeoFest is scheduled to take place August 4th – 7th. "We are very excited to have Soul Asylum headlining Saturday night's entertainment at RomeoFest," said Mayor John Noak." "With this year's return, we thought it only right to really take it up a notch and we're not going to stop there. Our Parks and Recreation Department is working tirelessly to gear up for this year's event season and we have a few more surprises up our sleeves that we hope to announce soon." The Village also announced its 2022 summer event lineup, which is set to include over 30 special events. In addition to the return of RomeoFest, the schedule of events also includes nine Rockin' the Ville concerts, Movies Under the Stars, a NEW teen movie night, Drive – In movie, Community Day of Play, and Founder's Day Parade. Also returning this year will be one of the suburbs biggest and most unique fireworks displays on July 3rd . Once again Romeoville will be having three simultaneous large fireworks displays shot off at three separate locations. When many places had to cancel their firework displays during the pandemic, Romeoville chose to take a different approach and expanded its show across a large portion of the community. The change gave more residents an opportunity to enjoy the displays from their own neighborhoods. It was so overwhelmingly successful it has already become a new community tradition.
