MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove boys hockey team will launch its quest for another state championship next week after taking down Rogers on Thursday night to win the Section 5AA title. The Crimson beat Rogers 4-2 in its seventh straight appearance in the sectional title game. Junior Finn Brink put Maple Grove ahead in the first period before senior Joshua Giuliani doubled the team's lead early in the second period. Rogers scored later in the second period, but Maple Grove's Landen Gunderson responded with a goal just 40 seconds after to restore the Crimson's two-goal cushion, according to statistics on the MN Boys Hockey Hub.
