Press release from Dayton Public Schools: March 4, 2022 The Dayton Public School District is proud to announce that 16 students have been named 2022 College Promise recipients.  College Promise provides mentoring and scholarships to students who have financial need and demonstrate academic promise. Academic promise is determined by the student's grades, test scores, attendance, and involvement in activities. Students are selected in 8th grade, are mentored once a week throughout high school, and are then awarded a scholarship that allows them to attend college at little to no cost. Montgomery County College Promise partner colleges and universities include Central State University, Denison University, Kettering College, Miami University, Miami University Regionals, Ohio Northern University, Ohio University, Sinclair Community College, the University of Dayton, Wittenberg University, Wright State University, and Xavier University. "We are very proud to have 16 College Promise recipients this year," said Dr. Elizabeth Lolli, Superintendent of the Dayton Public Schools. "With their dedication to good attendance, involvement in extracurriculars, and commitment to academic excellence, we are excited to see what their futures have in store!"
