GLEN ELLYN, IL —Former gubernatorial candidate Jeanne Ives will face off against Rep. Sean Casten (D-IL, 6) in the November election. Ives was the projected winner of the Republican nomination in Tuesday's election. Casten was unopposed in the Democratic primary and Ives faced off against Jay Kinzler in the Republican primary Tuesday. Ives maintained a steady lead over her opponent Kinzler as election results rolled in. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Ives had 71 percent of votes over Kinzler's 29 percent. In a statement Wednesday, Ives said of the victory, "We sent Sean Casten and the Democrats a loud message that our fight starts now, and we're ready to take them on all the way to November." Ives Background and Family Former Illinois State representative Jeanne Ives is also known for making a bid against Bruce Rauner in the 2018 gubernatorial election.
